Page 3 of 3 15. Seahorse: This has to be absolutely the cutest and saddest song I have ever heard. It is quite simply about a little seahorse looking for love and family in the deep, dark, cold, hard, mean ocean. He is just too small to make an impact on the world, and life seems to pass him by without his knowledge or consent. He does manage to hook up with a lady seahorse, and they make some babies, and he is happy and blissful…until the day he wakes up and she is gone. Boom, just like that. The best he can do is hope that his young survive, and hope that someday he’ll find someone to love. I envision this to be a cross between Finding Nemo and The Little Matchgirl (which you can see on the two-disc Little Mermaid set, just make sure there is a box of tissue nearby). I don’t watch preachy Pixar or juvenile Dreamworks doing it, though. I would like it to have a more adult, Watership Down kind of vibe. And I guess that is it. I am sure many famous filmmakers have read these two columns, and some of these movies should be in the works soon. So you be on the lookout for them, while I am off lighting my cigars with the royalty checks.
